Mexico City, October 19, 2026. Credit users generally understand the importance of paying on time, but they rarely know the other factors that affect their credit history or how to strengthen it. To close this knowledge gap, Nu Mexico introduces Score Nu, a feature within its app designed to show—monthly and simply—the evolution of its users' financial habits, their variations, and suggestions to boost them.

The lack of knowledge on this subject is measurable. According to a survey conducted among the institution's customers in October, only 30% understand which habits impact their evaluation, while 36% have never checked their credit history issued by Credit Reporting Agencies (SIC). However, the main obstacle is not fear, but a lack of guidance: among those who have never checked their status, 34% do not know how to do so, and barely 1% avoid it out of fear.

“The data shows that while there is a lack of clear information, there is great interest in adopting habits that strengthen financial futures. In fact, 74% of our surveyed customers consider it useful to receive a monthly summary of their activity. With this launch, we aim to help every user understand what happens behind their credit history through a monthly snapshot that offers practical recommendations to move forward,” stated Diego Sierra, Director of Product at Nu Mexico.

How does Score Nu work?

Each month, the tool analyzes the user's real financial activity and assigns a score ranging from 0 to 1,000, accompanied by a level from Very Low to Very High. To calculate this result, the feature integrates internal and external information sources. On one hand, it analyzes length of account history, usage frequency, and payment punctuality for the Nu Credit Card, as well as expenses and savings in the Nu Debit Account; on the other hand, it incorporates data issued by Credit Reporting Agencies, which is updated every six months.

Score Nu displays the customer's progress compared to the previous period and allows users to break down each habit to identify which factors caused variations. Additionally, the app generates personalized suggestions, such as scheduling automatic credit card payments so users do not have to memorize due dates or risk forgetting them.

Access is automatic and requires no prior registration. To check Score Nu, simply follow these steps:

  1. Open the home screen of the app.
  2. Select the profile icon.
  3. Choose the Score Nu option.

With this integration, the company reinforces its commitment to reducing complexity in financial services and providing money management tools to its more than 16 million customers.
